Backstage people required for "Guys n Dolls Musical Revue Group" - Brisbane (Redcliffe)
Fri, 2 Jan 2009, 06:23 am”Guys n' Dolls Revue" is the name of a small "cabaret" group here in northside Brisbane - Redcliffe area.
We are looking for backstage/ FOH people to join a fun up-and-coming musical theatre company...........
We will beginning our season for mid year - a run of some 10x weekend "musical review" 3hour run type gigs.
We have a team of "back stagers" but are in need to develop and train up people to a higher standard of quality.
We need 2x follow spot operators to start with.
Anyone interested in stage work from building to setting etc also required. We have a Lighting Tech but could use another; we have a Sound Tech who again could make use of a stage buddy......... We could do with an enterprising Props person. It’s all very light by theatre standards but is fun and is what we make it so it’s a great "entry" level for aspirants.
Our stage is about to be re-jigged with new lighting bars etc so some hands and feet here could be useful – preferably good hands and no two-left feet!
My interest is in staging and lighting and I am working up an application of intelligent lighting use with modern day presentation.
The on stage complement is some 15 - some great movers and shakers - to give some idea of what and who we are – we have a great little muso combo now………
Last Season was my first with GnD having had many years pro-am experience. They are an enterprising group with lots of potential………
I started life off in theatre along theses lines way back in the 50's and it would be good to get a young-set team together who can "run" the shows in a professional manner - bring new ideas and applications - a great place to start.
I am keen to train the willing and interested person(s) before my final curtain – as in retiring - passing on the good oil
etc.........
