BLOOD NEWS Audition #2 time has arrived for our second show for 08… BLOOD. Since the auditions in May an ensemble of actors and writers have been developing the script, and we are very excited. BLOOD tells the story of an imaginary theatre company as they prepare to pitch their new play The River of Life to win the chance to open Perth’s new Heath Ledger Theatre. The group struggles with their creative ideals and clashing egos as they develop a script that celebrates the potency of blood as a life-saver, as a cause of war and a symbol of family. However the creative process is not their only obstacle… on the other side of the world a new blood contagion is rapidly spreading… BLOOD splatters in an explosion of humour, drama and horror. We are seeking a few extra actors to join the cast. In particular we seek performers who can sing and dance and/or play an instrument… but they must also be actors. Please note that the main roles have been allocated to actors who have been developing the script. The remaining roles are ensemble roles and will involve a couple of song and dance routines as well as character and comic work. The audition will involve group physical and vocal work and improvisations and the opportunity to perform a short (up to 2 minute) monologue of your choice. Please request an audition by emailing the address below with a short biog. Be good to know your age, experience and special skills (eg play cello, tap-dance, ventriloquist etc) as well as who you have worked with before (eg WAYTCo in show X and Y, other theatre companies, school productions). One group audition will be held on Wednesday October 1 @ 6pm in Studio 3 at the King Street Art Centre. Space is limited, and we will let you know if you have been selected to attend. Please wear rehearsal clothes suitable for movement work, and have something to eat before you arrive. For information email or contact Phil or Lisa on 9226 2182. phil@wayouththeatre.org.au lisa@wayouththeatre.org.au
