We are looking for actors for a short film. The film will be shot in August and will require some rehearsals beforehand. The film revolves around the premise that, although at times we may feel isolated and alone, we are not. The audience follows a depressed woman into a suburban cafe, in which there are several groups of people seated at tables. The audience gradually learns that at least one person in each group is in a similar predicament to our main character. Actors are needed for the following roles: Helen, a misanthropic character in her mid forties. Therese and Kim, both in their mid-twenties, who have just come from the gym. Jake, 22, an exhausted and overworked waiter. Four uni students - Laura, 19, Rachel, 20, Jason, 20 and Michael, 19. Jason is ignored by the other three as he tries to tell them that he is having trouble coping with the demands of a uni student life. Margaret, in her seventies, who wonders why her family never visit. Ben, 29 who argues over salt and pepper shakers with his partner, although it is evident that there is a more serious problem at hand. Lilian, 31, and Steve, 36, who work at a local publishing company. Lilian has just discovered she is pregnant. Auditions will be held on Saturday June 21st. To organise an audition or for more information, please contact Madeleine (Director) at madeleine.butler@student.uts.edu.au or on 0405 211 596. If you are unable to make the 21st, we may be able to arrange another time.
