Male chorus wanted for 'Florodora', Sydney Inner West
Mon, 17 Mar 2008, 11:25 amSlick Operettas is seeking strong tenors and basses to participate in the chorus of its production of 'Florodora, or Frank Abercoed's Summer of Love', a thoroughly revamped adaptation of the 1899 hit. The production is on a profit share/cooperative basis.
The show opens at PACT Theatre, Erskineville on 9 May.
Fixed rehearsals are Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons, though there is scope for some flexibility. Act I takes place on the island of 'Florodora' somewhere in The Philippines, while Act 2 is set in a Welsh castle. This is not a boring or stuffy reissue of the original, but a freshly adapted version with verve and spice especially suited to 2008 audiences.
Some male principals also sought, as well as stage manager and dancers.
