The Bump In Project is seeking applications from Australian emerging performers. Round B is now open! I am currently seeking applications for the 2008 Round B grant, which offers financial assistance to emerging performers, directors, playwrights or producers. It is specifically aimed at high school or university graduates. It is hoped that by offering an emerging individual or group an opportunity to work on a professional performance, they will gain invaluable skills, add to their experience, and receive support during a time of transition. Anyone in Australia can apply, so long as you plan on performing at the 2008 Melbourne Fringe Festival. Successful applicants will receive a fully paid registration for the 2008 Melbourne Fringe Festival. Registration is worth between $400 and $500. Some additional marketing will be provided via press releases to the media, advertisement on our web site, and through our mailing lists. Additional guidance and advice is also available. Applicants are not expected or required to pay back the registration; this grant is for encouragement, not for profit. Who can apply? The grant is offered to Australian residents only. Individuals and groups may apply to Round B, and is limited to artists who have not produced or been involved in more than three professional (ie. profit-share, cooperative, or paid roles) performance. Applicants can include: • New or emerging fringe theatre groups or individuals, who aim to produce original professional theatre • Directors • Producers • Playwrights • Actors There are no limitations on style, themes, cast sizes, etc. Information about how to apply can be found here: http://thepromptcopy.com/bumpinproject Applications open 1st March 2008 and close 1st April 2008. No late applications will be accepted. (I have forwarded the info to Victorian uni's and VIC-based people, so if you know of anyone in other states who can pass on the info, please either let me know or give them the web address)
