Sun, 16 Dec 2007, 10:44 amHey all,
I am an aspiring dancer / actress and am soon to live in Adelaide. What newspapers / magazines etc are the best to peruse for performing arts jobs / auditions? Any info would be appreciated!

Logos, one of our members,
Logos, one of our members, will inform you about local papers. You can also try: QuietOnSet.com.au, the Arts Hub site (check out the feed in the news section here), etc.
Unfortunately, most auditions won't be advertised in any newspapers, those that are advertised to the public are usually done online.
Check out my list of links here:
http://www.thepromptcopy.com/pip/theatrelinks.htm
which has a lot of local companies and job hunting places, and includes pretty much all of the useful online sites and companies/sites relevant to SA.
If you're looking for paid work, your best bet is to get an agent, and do the usual job hunting stuff/self promotion. There's a bunch of info listed on this site if you do a search/check out the FAQs.

The best place to look for
The best place to look for auditions for amateur shows in Adelaide is online on the Adelaide Theatre Guide www.theatreguide.com.au
There might be some point in looking in your local Messenger Press Newspaper.
There are few if any ads for pro shows in SA papers. For professional work you need an agent.
For jobs check in the Advertiser and the Sunday Mail and also your local Messenger Press.
Is that all there is? Well if that's all there is my friend, then let's keep dancing.
