So you’re studying drama at school – everyone says it is easy because it’s an “arty” subject…Well they’re wrong!!
Drama studies can be just as tough as Physics and English Lit…after all, they are asking you to play a different character, whilst standing in the light, speak loudly enough so the audiencei can hear you, and remember all those lines, keep within the context of the scene, hit the right emotion and also pass the subject…whoa!!
A bit daunting?…well here’s where I come in:
Specialised tutoring in drama / drama studies, to not only pass the subject, but do the very best you possibly can!
A little about me…
My name is Kirk Goodsell…I, like yourself, studied drama at school. After finishing both TEE drama in year 11 and year 12 (and achieving very pleasing results), I continued my passion for drama and studied a Bachelor of Arts, with a major in Theatre Studies at Curtin University, in which I finished in the top 1% of my degree. In the past few years I have been involved with countless productions mainly as an actor but I have also had experience in directing, stage management, choreography and backstagei crewi.
I have performed in straight drama plays, musicals, operas plus many short-films, TV commercials and some TV work with Channel 31. I have worked with both community theatre groups as well as professional theatre companies including Class Act Theatre Company where I performed in theatre-in-education shows which toured both primary and high schools.
Now I have finished my acting degree, I am working at becoming a professional actor and making a living in the area of drama.
I can help you in all areas that are assessed in drama / drama studies including:
 Verbal & non-verbal communication skills
 Constructing a character
 Understanding the ‘context’ of a text
 How to devise a play
 How to keep a drama journal
 How to assess your own performance and the performance others.
 Develop the of a drama production team.
 Help you create and perform your original piece.
Why choose me?
1. I only a few years ago completed the subject that you are doing now! I know how the subject runs and how to achieve a successful result.
2. I continued to study drama at a tertiary level and finished in the top 1% of my degree.
3. Drama is my passion, love and life!
