CASTING CALL FOR MALE ACTOR 40+

This is a casting call for a male actor 40+ to play the LEAD ROLE in a new play called A Rock In The Sky. In a small country town, Chris, a teenage troublemaker, sees a UFO. The story is about how the local police station deals with this situation, particularly the character of SGT. ROBSON, who is the only one of the locals to believe Chris. The sighting of the UFO has the possibility of changing the delinquent teenager for the good and Robson takes the time to make this happen; as Chris moves forward into maturity, the bumbling sergeant provides the perfect mentor and foil – but the situation ultimately leads to Robson’s retirement from the station, leading to the later stages of his life. This part is the LEAD ROLE – it involves the maximum amount of onstage time and the maximum amount of dialogue. The role is indeed more suited for an actor around 60 but we are interested in someone around 40 who can appear and act 60 with a little help from the make-up department. More on the show: - The play is a full length co-op production – 2 hours. - It is to be performed much later in the year – perhaps August. - Probably in one of the theatres in South Yarra area. - It is not a paid role, we’re doing this for the love it.
