Hi my name is Kealey and I'm the producer of a short student film at Curtin University. The film is called "My friend Henry" and tells the story of Andrew, a young boy who wonders why he doesn't entirely fit in at school where all of his friends have their own imaginary friends. Andrew is confused about how and why the others at school create their imaginary friends, and so decides to investigate. He consults his parents and his brother, George, for help in creating his imaginary friend,as well as interviewing his schoolmates about theirs. Just when Andrew has almost given up hope, he discovers that he is not so different after all. When speaking with his family, he realises that he has never actually had a brother, George has been his imaginary friend all along. I am looking for some young actors to play the parts of Andrew, George, and Andrew's school friends, Gabriel, Johnathan, Steve and Samantha. Also, I would like to find two actors to play Andrew's parents. For the child characters, we would like the actors to seem about 8 years old, but the actors are able to be older or younger if they are able to look around 8. We would love to have a mixture of ethnicities if possible, so anyone within the age range would be perfect. This is essentially a film aimed at younger people, but which is also entertaining to people of all ages. It would be a great experience for any young people who would like some experience acting in front of a camera in a professional film environment, or who would like an opportunity to be filmed for their audtition tapes/ show reels. Most of all, this project will be a lot of fun! The film is 4 minutes long, and so will only take a few days shooting which will happen either during the school holidays or on one of the two weekends following. The biggest challenge at the moment is finding young actors to play each character, before we are able to organise anything else. So if you are interested, or know anyone who would be, or have any ideas on where to find people, please feel free to contact me. Thank you, Kealey. kealey_morgan@hotmail.com 0431906332
