Melville Theatre Company presents… Cat on the Hot Tin Roof by Tennessee Williams Directed by Susan Hayward Synopsis: It is the story of a Southern family in crisis, focusing on the turbulent relationship of a wife and husband, Maggie "The Cat" and Brick Pollitt, and their interaction with Brick's family over the course of one evening gathering at the family estate in Mississippi, ostensibly to celebrate the birthday of patriarch and tycoon "Big Daddy" Pollitt. Brick, an aging football hero, has neglected his wife and further infuriates her by ignoring his brother's attempts to gain control of the family fortune. Brick's indifference, and his nearly continuous drinking, date back to the recent suicide of his friend Skipper. Although Big Daddy has cancer and will not celebrate another birthday, his doctors and his family have conspired to keep this information from him and his wife. His relatives attempt to present themselves in the best possible light, hoping to receive the definitive share of Big Daddy's enormous wealth. Featuring Katherine Gauci as Maggie the Cat, Kirk Goodsell as Brick Pollitt, Mark Kont as Big Daddy and Rosemary Longhurst as Big Mama Performance dates: 6, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, 16 of Sept. at 8pm & 10 Sept. at 2pm (Note: Wed 6 and 13 are primarily for schools but public is welcome) Venue: Melville Theatre (Roy Edinger Centre) Cnr Stock Rd and Canning Hwy, Palmyra Tickets: $15 Full / $12 Conc. Bookings: 9330 4565 For more info: http://www.meltheco.org.au/index.html Come and see this famous play that questions the phycology of the human being, the loneliness we all face, the lack of communication there is between human beings and the mendacity that we all live in to save our face.

"Cat"

This production is already posted on the What's On page under productions so there isn't any need to cluttter up the Billboards!

Bookings

This was posting advising of the opening of bookings for the show, not specifically about the show itself. This is what the forums are for. Admitedly, it may have been better under the Bulletin Board rather than Classifieds.

Personally, I would see this as being more useful than many other postings that we regularly see cluttering this forum.

Ticket Sales

I was just wondering how sales are for tickets... I want to come next weekend, probably friday night. Also is the seating reserved or not ?
shafiraFri, 8 Sept 2006, 10:40 am

I would suggest ringing the

I would suggest ringing the Melville Theatre on their Bookings Phone : 9330 4565. I believe seating is reserved but that would be the best way to find out. you can then book your ticket. always best to get in quick for productions otherwise I have found that if you leave it till the last minute you can be dissapointed by not being able to get a seat. cheers Shafira "One should never trust a woman who tells one her real age. An entertaining laugh this thread

Thanks for a good laugh, this thread provided a chuckle very valuable in this sad week. I'm intrigued about being a Non Virgin Director though, I'm virgin on the edge of insanity most of the time. Hey but while I'm here, take a look at Party to Murder at Limelight Wanneroo, it opens on 21st September (I've heard their front of house is awesome)
