AUDITION NOTICE FOR: Cat on A Hot Tin Roof Written by Tennessee Williams - Director Susan Hayward WEDNESDAY 5th JULY, 2006 7:30pm VENUE: MELVILLE THEATRE PERTH. SEASON RUN : Sept.7th 16th , 2006. The story of a troubled young man in a troubled marriage. Why has Brick quit his job as a sports announcer and taken up drinking himself into oblivion each day? Why can he no longer bear to be a husband to his beautiful young wife? Why does he blame himself for the death of his best friend? *CAST REQUIRED – 5 men, 3 women, 1 girl about 10 (ALL CAST AGES ARE STAGE AGES) BRICK – 30 – This is a HUGE role requiring a full range of strong emotions. The actor needs to be very good looking and have a good physique. MAGGIE – 25 – Brick’s wife another very big, very emotional role. BIG DADDY – 60 - Brick’s father, very big role, very emotional. Must be a “big” man. BIG MAMA – 55 – Brick’s mother, emotional role. Needs to be “large” lady. MAE – 30 – Brick’s sister in law. Not a nice person. GOOPER – 35 – Brick’s brother. An unhappy, resentful man. DIXIE – 10 – Daughter of Gooper and Mae Rev. TOOKER – 50 – Small cameo role. Dr. BAUGH – 50 – Small cameo role.
