Getting to LA !!!!!!
Wed, 15 Mar 2006, 12:00 pmCan anybody tell me how these Australian actors, who are unknown in the US, are able to live and work in LA!? How do they attack the VISA issue?
I've recently worked in LA on a short-term (5 month) temporary VISA. I want to move there on a more permanent basis to work in the industry. Does anybody know how this works for an actor?

Wed, 15 Mar 2006, 12:37 pmYou might want to sign up for 'The Business in Acting' classes (I think that's what it's called, please anyone correct me if I'm wrong). These classes offer up all sorts of useful info on going to the US, including agents, producers and directors, visas, tax info, etc. The classes have been recently advertised on one of the Yahoo! groups like Actors Australia, Auditions Australia, or Melbourne Auditions. They've also advertised in the QuietOnSet newsletter (which you can sign up for, for free).
