Experience first hand what it feels like to act and what an actor's work within a scene entails. See through the eyes of the actor and unlock the secret to communicating your vision by talking with an actor in their own language.
This 4 day intensive course offers directors an opportunity to learn the fundamental principals of the actor's craft, understand the language of the actor and to practice skills in harnessing the resources of an actor to bring your vision for a scene to life.
Topics covered include: Acting fundamentals, scene work & process, scene analysis, actions & objectives, rehearsal techniques, giving direction, speaking the actor's language, Dos and Don'ts of communicating with actors, Inside out vs Outside in direction, emotion and the actor, emotional techniques, coaching actors for emotional results, tips for casting the right actor and more.
PLUS participants undertake live directing exercises working with real live actors!
DATES: Mon 28th Nov - Thurs 1st Dec
TIMES: 9am-5pm daily
