Sydney Agents
Thu, 6 Oct 2005, 08:51 amI promise this won't be another space-wasting post about how I'm a brilliantly talented 14-yr-old who wants a part in a movie. I am 14, though, and am looking to get an agent, for musical theatre in particular. I wanted to know whether the regular agents, who represent adults, would sign a teenager. I look older than I am and probably could not play a 14-yr-old if I tried, and if possible, would rather be represented by an agent that could get me work in the late teen age-bracket. I've researched the children's agents and they mainly seem to have the motto "we'll take all your money and put your kid in a commercial, but only if they're 10 and cute," of which I am neither. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

I am also in this situation, and am intrigued as to find an answer for LazyStageBabe's question. I am taking Panacea's advice and am going to try out for an amateur production, although I would love to know whether I am forced to get a children's agent or whether I can get a normal agent. (not that children's agents aren't normal)
