The Philadelphia Story - forget Tom Hanks

Before High Society turned the story into a musicalÂ…Â…Â…Â…
Philip Barry wrote a play with Katherine Hepburn in mind and it became a classic of stage and screen.
The Philadelphia Story tells the story of Tracy Lord, the daughter of a wealthy and privileged Philadelphia family on the eve of her second marriage. In the midst of the rush of preparations, family tensions and dealing with the intrusion of magazine reporters she finds herself suddenly uncertain and questioning not only herself but whether sheÂ’s walking down the aisle to the right man.
There are some wonderful parts in this play for all ages from the cheeky teenage sister through to the delightfully naughty Uncle Willie. The menÂ’s parts are particularly good, especially Mike Connor, the reporter and C K Dexter Haven, the ex-husband who is determined to make Tracy grow up and face life. The Philadelphia Story will play at the Old Mill Theatre, South Perth from
18th November to 4 December.
