TWELVE HOUR POETRY KNIFE FIGHT!
Wed, 17 Aug 2005, 11:01 amTomás Ford's Cabaret Of Death's
12 HOUR POETRY KNIFE FIGHT
Brunswick Street, Fitzroy VIC
THURSDAY AUGUST 18, 8AM - 8PM
So you think you're pretty hard do ya?
You can't be as hard as me, Tomás Ford... I'm the toughest poet in the country.
To back that up, I'll take on all comers for 12 hours. 8am-8pm. Tomorrow. Starting on Brunswick Street, then wherever we end up.
I'll be chalking one continuous line of text from the corner of Brunswick & Alexandra Parade to Federation Square (and hopefully, beyond there, depending on what sort of time I make) AND I CHALLENGE YOU to try to keep up a parallel line of text for an hour (or however long/short a time you reckon you can manage). I'll provide the chalk and bravado.
To find out exactly where I am up to, gimmie a ring on 0407 080 855. If you don't reckon you're a poet, don't worry. Come have a crack anyway.
There's no knives involved at all (hopefully), but there's not really much death in Tomás Ford's Cabaret Of Death either...
I'll also be performing a set at SPOT THE BULLSH*T at The Spot (most people know it as the Brunswick lentil place apparently @ 133 Sydney Rd Brunswick) VS Klare Lanson and with Antipoet, Kerryn Tredrea, Gemnastics and a stack of other cool dudes. It'll be $5 to get in and is GUARANTEED to rock your world. Theatre kids will especially get off on the raw theatre of a Tomás Ford vs Klare Lanson gig so git yo' ass down, yo. Come ask me for a copy of my new radio single NO SUPRISES while you're there. I'll give it to ya in exchange for whatever sedatives you can scrounge from your parents' medicine cupboard.
