HAYMAN SAVED DUE TO YOUR LETTERS & SUPPORT THANK YOU
Mon, 11 July 2005, 11:49 amTHANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE WHO WROTE LETTERS TO THE VC, SHIELA MCHALE et al. We did it! Awesome - recieved an email below. I was amazed and moved at the strength of, and immediate bonding within, the theatre community who all came together to save the Hayman and its wonderful course! Once again thank you so much.
Cheers

We at the Hayman wish to thank all those people across Australia who recently expressed their support when we were under threat of closure: we have been assured of the courseÂ’s continuing.
We are certain that this happy conclusion is a result of the large number of emails and other contacts received by the Vice Chancellor. We have been extremely gratified by the breadth and depth of support.
Working through patient argument and mature judgement, Tony Nicholls headed the campaign and bore the brunt of its pressures. Talei Howell-Price ensured the press coverage crucial to raising awareness and garnering support. Gibson Nolte provided a rallying point and encouraged involvement. Dylan Sercombe co-ordinated current students. NIDAÂ’s Aubrey Mellor leant his weight to the campaign through press releases.
To all these people, a special thanks. To everyone who took the time to spread the word and to contact the VC, your efforts have been influential in saving the Hayman and encouraging sections of Curtin to think about value as well as price.
