Seeking actors for short film in Perth
Wed, 29 June 2005, 08:20 pmWe are seeking actors for a third year uni short entitled Last Supper.
The film follows Linda, her son, David and the relationship between them following his release from prison. During DavidÂ’s prison sentence the two had formed a bond that they had never before had but, as Linda discovers, that doesnÂ’t guarantee it will be the same once he is out. During the days following his release, David must decide how badly he wants to change his life, while Linda must decide how far sheÂ’s willing to go to understand her son. Though set around unfamiliar circumstances, Last Supper deals with the familiar situation of the lack of communication, understanding and confidence between mother and son.
Last Supper is a dialogue and performance based script with an estimated running time of 15 minutes. This will provide a great opportunity for actors who wish to show what they can do in front of a camera. The film will be shot between the 25th of July and the 1st of August, though certain cast members wonÂ’t be required for some days. Rehearsals will be scheduled around availabilities before the shoot.
Cast:
LINDA: Mid 40’s – 50’s.
A conservative woman who lives alone and finds it hard to express her feelings. She knows that her son is slipping away from her and wants nothing more than to have a normal, open relationship with him.
DAVID: 20Â’s
A reluctant criminal whose love lies with his mother but loyalties lie with his friends. Once released he finds that making a fresh start while pleasing both his mother and friends is not as easy as he had imagined.
STEVE: 20Â’s
Extroverted and somewhat obnoxious friend of David who lives his life with a complete disregard for everyone, even though he isnÂ’t completely aware of it.
There is also one other small speaking role for another of DavidÂ’s friends.
