Hey guys...
I know people say that you can't actually "teach" acting... but does anyone know where I could get some tips for the acting monolgue section of the WAAPA musical theatre audition? I've got the singing and dancing covered... but my acting ability leaves a lot to be desired...

I don't know about that..? There are definite skills involved, and you've got to learn them from somewhere.

Like anything, there will be some with greater aptitude, who can take skills and learn to apply them more easily than others. It may seem that some people try to learn but don't readily acquire the skills and experience. Others seem to 'know' innately what works and it seems like 'natural talent'.
This could just as easily apply to any endeavor, but talents in the interpretive arts seem to be less easily defined.
'Teaching' and 'learning' acting are not definite concepts, but subjective, intuitive ones...it's not always easy to see the steps taken or missing, and every individual has a different path to take.

But everybody at every level has something to learn....and often there is someone to learn from, if you can find them.

Cheers,
Craig
