Staging the Past free chat on The Globe Playhouse in London
Fri, 24 June 2005, 07:34 amFREE PUBLIC LECTURE by Professor Martin White.
Staging the Past, Thursday 11 July 2005, 6 pm, Geography Lecture Theatre 1, UWA.
The reconstruction of the Globe Playhouse in London has attracted praise and criticism. Some see it as a vibrant theatrical experience and an opportunity to explore the theatrical past; others dismiss it as a tourist trap. In this lecture Martin White discusses the thinking behind theatrical reconstructions, drawing on the Globe and his own work using a full scale, candelit replica of a Jacobean indoor playhouse. The lecture will be illustrated with unique film footage of performances in candlelight.

Monday 11th of July - Globe Playhouse talk
No worries Grant.
Also, just checked in them - seeing as the 11th is a Monday not a Thursday - and the event is on the Monday night.
Cheers
Talei
