Anyone know a good one act play for a budding director?

I just want a couple of suggestions so if you have directed of performed in a memorable little production and can give me some feedback about it, that would be great.

I would like to do something with a little comedy in it or I would consider a strong dramatic piece also.

Any helpful comments accepted.

Many happy regards,

Jeff Watkins

WeatherWise by Noel Coward... I know it is british and a bit old, but it is good old fashion humour that has audiences laughing until their sides hurt.

I directed it with some fellow actors last year and the response was excellent

Jeff:

I have two. No royalties for educational institutions and amateur theatre companies. They both have 1 simple set, run approximately 35 minutes in length, have had mutiple productions, and possess well-defined characters. They are entitled GOLDEN ELLIOTT and GODDESSES OF THE WESTERN WORLD and are available at :

http://www.scriptcircle.co.uk

In addition, I recently completed a full-length, dark comedy. It provides roles for "fat" actors. UP AND DOWN THE BATHROOM SCALE is a new, full-length comedic play focusing on a group of individuals suffering from obesity volunteer as guinea pigs for a pharmaceutical-research project that is testing a new super diet drug. If the program is 100% successful, the pharmaceutical company promises to pay the volunteersÂ’ taxes for life. However, three weeks into the clinical trial everything plummets into absolute calamity. Thus, proving the old adage that when things go wrong, they go wrong all the way. Six roles for obese actors (4F, 2 M). Three other roles (3M, normal weight range.) If interested, I can send to you as an email attachment (Word.doc or Rich.txt).

Cheers, Linda

Re: One Act Play Suggestion?

I have adapted and modernised a play called "The Dear Departed" I am open to discussion about putting my version on.

In this version, instead of being in Liverpool at the beginning of the 20th Century, it is set in Perth at the beginning of the 21st. Some of the character names have changed, but the basic storyline is original. If you are willing to have another budding director involved, (ie myself) I will waive the performance rights. If not, we can come to an agreement.

I can be contacted on 0403328830 most days, but if my phone is off, just leave a message.

Look forward to hearing from you.
Luke

Why don't people e-mail these sorts of details direct to the person asking - just click on the person's name and you will find the e-mail address.
