PACS is pleased to present the inaugural Blue Room International Playreading Festival that kicks off November 7th - 11th.

The Blue Room International Play Reading Festival will showcase the work of established and emergent playwrights from Australia and beyond, providing an opportunity to investigate the contemporary concerns of some of our foremost local, national and international theatre practitioners, free of production budget restrictions and surrounded by the sensual delights of some of NorthbridgeÂ’s finest food makers.

A gold coin donation entitles patrons to attend the reading, as well as to experience the culinary delights generously provided by our favourite Northbridge traders of international cuisine. Our bar will be open half an hour prior to the reading commencing and afterwards for refreshing discussion and summer sundowners.

The festival includes:

Burnt Piano
Written by Justin Fleming (AUS)
Sunday 7th November, 5pm
Burnt Piano is a play of wisdom and humanity, full of music, poetry and wry humour. It celebrates the refuge of art and the power of forgiveness. Directed by Adam Mitchell and featuring, Talei Howell-Price, Murray Dowsett, Rosemary Barr and Andrew Warwick.

The Goat
Written by Edward Albee (USA)
Monday 8th November, 7pm
Funny, shocking and ultimately harrowing, The Goat begins as domestic comedy and ends as a Greek Tragedy. This is a drama about a marriage in crisis, but with an extraordinary twist. Directed by Don Smith and featuring Geoff Kelso, Ingle Knight, Polly Low and John Robinson.

King Kevin
Written by Peter Alexander (WA)
Tuesday 9th November, 7pm
In the past, King Kevin believed murder and pillage were the ways to glory and fortune. In the future, heÂ’s going to find things even easier. Directed by George Blazevic and featuring Ingle Knight, Pippa WilliamsonÂ…

Keeper
Written by Steven Snell (AUS)
Wednesday 10th November, 7pm
Kevin and Neil have gatecrashed a party. Maybe something else was crashed as wellÂ…the teenage hostsÂ’ skull perhaps? Directed by John Aitken and featuring Shaun Martindale and Mark Maitland and Nicholas McRobbie.

For any further information or to secure yourself a seat please contact me on 9227 7005 or amber@pacs.org.au

It will be a great festival full of wonderful plays, great local food and good times in the blue room bar.

See you there!
