TEAR FROM A GLASS EYE by Matt Cameron
The script was originally developed at the National Theatre and produced by the Playbox Theatre in Melbourne and the Gate Theatre in London. Now Be Active BSX-Theatre presents the play that won the Wal Cherry Play of the Year Award, showcasing a selection of talented, young, West Australian performers and creative artists. Director of this workshop production, Tom Gutteridge (Artistic Director of Black Swan Theatre Company), states “Tear From A Glass Eye is at the most interesting end of contemporary Australian writing. It has been very exciting to work on it with young emerging performers and to see a work like this presented at Black Swan’s own premises.”
This presentation features visual designs by Leon Krasenstein and original sound designs by Ashley Greig, with support from Jemma Gurney (Assistant Director) and Stephen Whiley (Stage Manager). The cast has been drawn from the Be Active BSX –Theatre membership base; James Beck, Andrew Dunn, Elisa Ghisalberti, Stephen Haimes, Eva Mullaley, Tim Nolan, Sierra Phillips, Nell Shipley and Rebecca Southall.
Titus is found unconscious and sunburnt in a desert. He has no identification and no memory. The same day a women waits at the beach for a plane to explode overhead and fall into the sea.
