Backstage Amateur Theatre Nightmare!

This message is very anybody who has ever had anything to do with amateur theatre Â… and, come to think of it, more than a couple of professional groups.

Picture a sarcastic temperamental director, who thinks he’s God’s gift to theatre – you know the sort – sniggers at the slightest mistake, yells and screams every moment he can.

The Prima Donna … “I assume I have control of any script changes?”
“If course,” he replies,” you have my permission on performance nights, to leave out any lines you don’t remember.”

The set builder who doesnÂ’t want to act and interrupts rehearsals any way he can and the long suffering gentle lady, who is really the strength behind the theatre, continually bullied by said Prima Donna and the manic director.

We’ve all been there! Picture every fault, every mistake, every stuff up you’ve ever seen and congratulations! – you’ve just joined Little Grimley Amateur Dramatic Society – in it’s dying days.

This is genuinely not to be missed! YouÂ’ll recognise everyone! And without a doubt, laugh like a bloody drain, putting names and events to characters.

Real life Director, Barry Le Forte, struggling to maintain composure and his sanity, has somehow managed to weld together three actors Â… and yours truly, into this genuinely very, very witty piece of theatre, written by David Tristam.

A must for anybody who’s ever trod the boards, or slaved away as crew, or front of house. The erstwhile Mr Flood gave it 7 out of 10 … and that was for opening night – and in spite of yours truly.
