Interested in The Alexander Technique?
Tue, 27 July 2004, 02:13 pmYes? Well, how about some more information on an exculsive workshop to be held at the Blue Room Theatre....
The Alexander Technique is a method of re-education. The recognition of the part habit plays in our lives. Once familiar with the technique, self-observation improves and you will become aware of these habits and take steps toward changing them.
In lessons we work to improve facility of movement and to reduce unnecessary tension in the body that occurs in our daily lives.
The practice of the technique encourages:
· Fluidity of movement.
· Draws attention to our postural tension that usually passes unnoticed
· Increases energy, flexibility, equilibrium and co-ordination.
· Gives relief from back problems, migraines, asthma, and repetitive strain Injury.
· Enhances performance in sport, work related activities and the performing arts
Students are taken through movements that they are likely to use in everyday life while observing how they may be executing these movements to their advantage or disadvantage.
An exclusive Alexander Technique Workshop with Francesca Waters.
Francesca is a registered Alexander Technique teacher and an active actor in the Perth arts scene. She came to the technique with a desire to improve performance and overall wellbeing. She regularly teaches the Alexander Technique and runs drama courses from her studio in Como.
