Hey peoples,

Great to hear you're enthusiastic about getting out into the industry because lord knows I've been at it for yonks and its hard but rewarding work!

BUT...

The use of slang on here doesn't really help with the credibility with postings.

As legit as your postings are, there has been a recent spate of postings by lots of young hopefuls who have used excessive amounts of slang and acronyms, not to mention, bad spelling that it has had the potential of putting people off from reading your postings.

Perhaps its because some people (like our older peers - which include browsing agents/directors) simply aren't savvy with the jargon of our younger counterparts. Terms like 'lol' and the like are, for me, distracting because it detracts from what you are saying because i have to take a sec to work out what it means in context.

Also, the slang and colloquial language plays up on your age and perhaps makes you sound even more younger than you seem.

I don't mean to sound preachy and all that but I thought I'd throw some helpful hints your way.
