GREETINGS FELLOW INTERACT-ERS....

I hope you are all looking forward to this weekend at Kalamunda. Interact 2004 is shaping up to be an exciting weekend with lots of workshops, stalls, specials, fun and entertainment. Thank you for sending me your workshop selections, this should hopefully make registration day on Saturday a lot smoother. Here's some important information for you all.

9AM - REGISTRATION: Saturday 9am - Kalamunda Performing Arts Centre.
This is where you will need to present yourself to the registration desk (I'll be there), and will make sure you know which workhops you are participating in and where they will be held within the Arts Centre. You will also receive a 'show bag', which will contain a notebook, pen, map of central Kalamunda and plenty of handy information including places to eat.

At the registration desk there will also be a form for you to register yourself on if you wish to attend the Murder Mystery at the Kalamunda Hotel on Saturday evening... it would be good if you can enter your name on the form, as this will make it easier to allocate you a character for the evening. Props will be provided, and we don't expect people to dress up (unless you really want to !!). Murder Mystery is FREE for all 18+ Interact paricipants. Make sure you have dinner before hand, or else you can order counter meals from the hotel...

Make sure you wear comfy and warm clothing for the workshops.

9.30AM - WELCOME:
A short warm up and welcome before undertaking your first workshop for the weekend.

10AM - WORKSHOPS BEGIN:

HOW TO GET TO KALAMUNDA:
Drive to the top of Kalamunda Road, you will be at a roundabout with a water feature in the middle - turning right on to Canning Road. You then drive approximately 1 minute along Canning Road, there will be a car yard on your left hand side, this is a good land mark, just after you pass that on your right hand side you will see the Kalamunda Performing Arts Centre, there is a driveway with two pillars and if memory serves me correct, wrought iron gates that will be open. The Arts Centre is next to Kostera Oval and Kalamunda High School. If you pass Kalamunda High School - you have gone too far !!

If you need to contact us - contact myself on 0419 858 938.
and I promise my phone will be FULLY charged...

NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH

As most of you are aware... some workshop programs had been allocated time slots, however some of the presenters were confirmed at a later date. Well, until recently we had only one workshop to finalise. And during the week it was confirmed and we are very privaleged to have Monday's Acting Workshop to be presented by Craig Williams. So if any of you would like to alter your selections on Monday Workshop 1 to Craig's workshop - then please let me know and I will make the arrangements. Here's Craig's bio...

CRAIG WILLIAMS:
Has been a key artist with Barking Gecko Theatre Company for 16 years, devising performances and composing music for shows that have toured nationally as well as to many international festivals. In 1995 he received a WA Citizen Of The Year award for his achievements as a young artist, as well as directing a production in Canada. He is currently the resident musician for 'The Big Hoo-Haa' comedy improvisation show. He received 'best actor' nominations in the 2002 and 2003 WA Equity Awards. ...and he can 'occasionally' be observed contributing his opinion to the ITA website...!

WORKSHOP - "Something from Nothing."
Craig will explore several techniques (borrowed from his experiences with Barking Gecko, Perth Theatre Company, Cutsnake Comedy, and Zeal Theatre) of using improvisation to devise scenes, characters, and physical imagery. These techniques were used by him to create the successful short drama "Fear" for the John Curtin College of the Arts guest director season, and were integral in creating shows like 'Stories From Suburban Road', 'Dolphin Talk', and 'The Stones'.
Participants should wear comfortable clothing.
