Advice with sponsorship...
Thu, 1 Apr 2004, 09:01 amHello everyone.
I recently auditioned to go to the USA over christmas and new year as part of a tour visting some of the more outstanding dance and singing workshops in LA and NY.
The good news is that i got in...the bad news is that i now have to pay for it.
Does anyone have any handy hints on how to fundraise some extra cash to help me...and im intending on writing to millions of companies for sponsorship.
Is there anything that you would recommend i include or exclude in that so very important letter???

They usually put in as a condition of successful sponsorship that you provide a report to them about your trip when you get back.
Some councils have funds for local projects and overseas projects. In this case you will be the project.
There are also funding under lotteries commission grants and state government grants but they take longer to process and have cutoff times.
Consider giving workshops when you return as part of your letter as they will be asking "what do we get for our money" and "what do our local youth get out of this"
Remenber "Who, What, Why, Where, When, How' as conditions to be met when writing a press release as that is basically what you will be submitting.
Hope you get your funding.
