The Stones - performing in schools Feb/March

Barking Gecko presents Larrikin Theatre's production of "The Stones".

Suitable for highschool to adult, this dynamic production presents fast physical theatre, strong characterisation, simple but inventive staging, live music, and humour to present a factual story of teenage hooliganism that goes a step too far, with devastating consequences.

Shortlisted for 'best production' at both the 2003 Perth Fringe Awards and the 2003 IFAC/Equity Guild Awards; and achieving the IFAC/Equity finalist's list for 'best actor' for both cast members Sam Longley and Craig Williams, "The Stones" has the support of the WA Police Department for its hard-hitting message and it's appeal to young people.

Bookings for the return season, performing in Perth highschools in term 1, are still available...contact Bronwyn at Barking Gecko (08-9388-2611) for details.

Hi Naomi

Yes, there was never intended to be any dismissal of Stefo Nantsou and Tom Lycos (Zeal Theatre) who wrote and originally performed this excellent play which has won worldwide acclaim. The only reason they were omitted from the above post is that my intention was simply to encourage bookings for our season in Perth. Zeal Theatre is not known in Perth, whereas both Sam and I are well recognised here. We're very proud of our achievements in this production, but we certainly don't claim full responsibility.

Stefo and Tom actually jointly directed this Larrikin Theatre/Barking Gecko production, and they have fully endorsed our WA season.

Cheers,
Craig
