Many of you will be shocked to learn that Jo and Patrick were in a severe car accident on Monday night (6th October).

Jo is in ICU in Fremantle Public Hospital and was operated on last night.
Patrick is a more stable condition and able to talk on the phone, although very upset. He's in Ward 9 South at Fremantle.

It's best to ring the hospital on: 9431 2555 and ask to be put through to Patrick.

Apart from being close friends of mine, they are two great people and will need all the support we are able to give.

Re: Patrick Spicer & Jo Marsh

Please will everyone in the Perth theatre community pray for Patrick and especially for Jo's full recovery. They are two lovely, talented young people who have already had a very difficult year and deserve much better luck.
If you don't believe in prayer - just send positive and healing thoughts their way.
Some of us believe that this sort of collective energy can really help - and I really think its worth a go!

Re: Patrick Spicer & Jo Marsh

I went in to see Patrick this morning, and while his injuries areobviously bad, particularly his right knee, he's doing a lot better than I expected. He was heading to theatre this afternoon to have his broken hand set, and then would be going to the ICU to see Jo .Those wounds will heal of course, but the trauma will take much longer. And they will need all the support they can get.
Sadly Jo is not doing as well. She has regained conciousness, and has responded to stimuli, but she does have sever head trauma among her injuries, and as of yet any state of permanent damage is not known.
As Angelique and Greg have both said, all we can do is pray, and I'm also a firm believer that positive collective energy from the people that care about them, and anyone for that matter, can work wonders.
We're all thinking of them and our prayers go out to them.
Thanks Andie

Re: Patrick Spicer & Jo Marsh

Thoughts of love and prayer go out to Jo and Patrick, two of my favorite people in the world.

Re: Patrick Spicer & Jo Marsh

I saw Patrick this afternoon, he was still waiting to have his hand operated on, but was trying hard to be upbeat and positive. The prognosis for Jo is looking a little more hopeful. It is of course still very early, but I hope and pray that these are the first steps on the road to something better.

All my thoughts are with you both.

Pat and Jo; Going to be OK

Hi All

Just came from Freo Hospital. Pat and Jo are going to be OK. Jo made a big recovery last night and is now breathing unassisted and they are going to move her out of the ICU soon. Her parents are with her and she is responsive. The main danger seems to have passed but she'll have a way to go.

Pat is in good spirits, worried about Jo but much better now he has had a chance to see her and that she's improving. The operation on his hand went very well. He's got 40 stiches in his head that will make a very cool scar and a lot of cuts and bruises. His right knee is a big mess but will hopefully be OK too.

If anyone wants to visit Pat is in Room 16 in Ward 9, Block B, South Wing of Freo Hospital. Block B is on the corner of South Terrace and Alma.

Thank Christ.

Cav Gallagher's description of Patrick's room:

Due to a shortage of beds Patrick can be found in the Colonrectal ward (truth) where there are 50 blokes with sore arses and one with a broken finger, that's Patrick.

Wow - what a shock to read this. Thank God that they are going to be o.k. Haven't seen these two fabulous dynamic indiviudals for so long. The support that they are receiving from everybody on this site is beautiful! My thoughts and prayers are with you both. Much love, Warren.

Re: Patrick Spicer & Jo Marsh

Patrick, was shocked and stunned to have only just found out what has happened, having been incommunicado for a few weeks. Jo (Williams) and I want to wish both you and Jo a speedy recovery and hope everything comes out for the best.

Love and thoughts, Michael Lamont and Jo Willams

Re: Patrick Spicer & Jo Marsh

For once, I'm glad I wasn't there to review it.

I'm sure you'll make this a winning post somehow anyway.

Wish you both a speedy and full recovery,

stinger

Re: Pat and Jo; Going to be OK

Not only are they both going to be okay, but I can see "PatCrash - the sitcom" coming out of this. I don't know whether to laugh or cry when I talk to Patrick, but I do know they are both far too strong to let this beat them.

Especially that Jo.... most of the staff are in terror of her. I sweaqr I saw them drawing straws for the poor bugger to tell her she had to stay in bed a little longer.

evicted

hi everyone -
just a short update. still typing one-handed :)

im now out of hospital and will start rehabilitation soon. this also means im no longer just down the corridor from jo, so i ask, if you didnt get to see her the first time you came, please do now. if you did, please feel free to do so again.
i know that the flow of visitors i had really helped me out and picked up my spirits, and i know the same would work for her.

she had the draining tube removed from her lung yesterday (yay!) and was put in a wheelchair for the first time today, which is good. she still has a long way to go, but we take it day by day.

thank you all SO much for your help and support thru this - the visits and the phone calls... we really really REALLY appreciate it.
