Censorship

In amongst the previous postings of banter and fun, followed by death wishes and hate, there was a tale of coach travel.
Now it has mysteriously disappeared!

Hopefully, I am mistaken, however, I am reminded of boarding school days, when the Profumo scandal was on the front pages – the relevant sections of the newspaper were cut out, as were the female anatomy pages in the encyclopaedias. But that was 1960!

The tale of course, is irrelevant, but the censorship is fascinating, as there was no swearing, no death threats, or hate filled messages, nothing libellous, but goodness gracious me, someone was offended.

The hiss of pursed lips.
The strident whisper of control.

How should one take it?
As a true reflection of our society - the little insular village that some would have us live in?
Or perhaps it is something more sinister – the wishes of those who would be a politically correct elite? In the performing arts???

How interesting that a site which purports to represent theatre and the arts is so willing to strike out what it doesnÂ’t like.

I would be most intrigued to find out who made the decision to take that one posting out and why.

Unfortunately, I was doing an interview with a radio station and as we scrolled through the site, that particular piece of the jigsaw was missing.

It looked to all and sundry, as if some form of censorship had taken place. I hasten to add, we searched with several computers and still couldnÂ’t come up with it. Nor was it visible when I returned to my office.

I have no explanation, but will gracefully accept nomination as a technical luddite – to add to party animal!
I will of course, rectify the impression tomorrow.
Cheers
Greg
