A white-collar worker confides in a stranger about the downsizing of his family.

A young couple recall the night they attended a fabulous bash in the city.

A woman reminisces about a secret affair with her high school English teacher and its tragic consequences.

Through the vivid telling of unspeakable and insidious violence, writer Neil Labute (In The Company of Men, Your Friends and Neighbours) presents a brutal picture of societal malaise.

The Act-O-Matic 3000 is proud to stage the Melbourne premiere of this important and renowned work for the 2003 Melbourne Fringe Festival. bash brings this theatre company to its fifth national Fringe Festival in four years. Earlier this year, The Act-O-Matic 3000 toured its highly successful production of Italian American Reconciliation from a season at The Store Room in 2002, to the WA Fringe Festival in February where it was nominated for Best Production of Fringe 2003.

Featuring Nikola Dubois, Catherine Kohlen, Paul Shea and Dan Walls with direction from Julie O'Reilly, bash plays North Melbourne Town Hall late September.

this isn't an evening of light entertainment, but without plays such as bash there's not much point in bothering with theatre.
