Our guest speaker for this month is Bill Pepper who is the Head of Voice Studies for NIDA. Bill is one of the most sought after acting voice coach in Australia. He has coached four Oscar winners (Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman and Geoffrey Rush), directed many theatre productions and has taught Voice and Acting throughout Australia, including NIDA, Actors Centre Australia and as Head of Voice at VCA. Some of our members already had the pleasure of BillÂ’s instruction in Aha!Â’s recent Accents for Stage/Film/TV Course where we tackled many commercially useful accents whilst having great fun in the process.

As the NIDA auditions are coming up in November, we have invited Bill to come and demystify NIDA and the NIDA audition process for all who are interested.

To assist Bill, we have also invited the talented and dashing Jason Chan, who is a 2001 NIDA Acting Course Graduate and of Power Rangers and Playhouse Disney fame, to come and share his NIDA audition and NIDA Acting Course experiences with us from a student's perspective. You can find out more about Jason's from his website: http://www.jkchan.com.

So hereÂ’s your chance to ask a NIDA instructor and ex-NIDA student all the questions you have ever had about NIDA!

After the talk, Bill will take us through a series of vocal exercises that will help all voice users free up their voices. These exercises will be useful for all, especially professional voice users like announcers, presenters, actors, singers, teachers, trainers, etc.
This seminar will also be an informal opportunity for all parties interested in Aha! to get together and discuss Aha!'s direction with the Committee. Anyone interested in finding out more about Aha! membership and Aha!'s future direction are invited to attend.
