The Big HOO HAA at the Brass Monkey TONIGHT
Wed, 27 Aug 2003, 03:39 amBy popular demand, THE BIG HOO HAA, the comedy improv show that has been attracting a regular Friday crowd in Fremantle for over a year, is appearing upstairs at the Brass Monkey in Northbridge tonight.
Starring 2 teams of your favorite players, - Sam Longley, Claire Hooper, James Eaton, Xavier Michelides, Damon Lockwood, and Libby Klysz, plus Gibson Nolte as MC and Craig Williams on synth guitar.
Come along, have a guffaw and support your local comic improvisers...and it could start to become a regular thing so you don't always have to travel down to Freo!
Show kicks off around 8pm ...not sure of ticket prices, but the Freo gig is only $8/10 for a two hour show, so you're going to get your money's worth!
It'll be James, Damon, and my last gig for a while (we'll be off on tour the next day to QLD and the NT for a month)...so we hope we see you there !

Yes, sorry, as the Glasshouse venue, upstairs at the Brass Monkey pub is a licenced venue, it was restricted to 18+.
The room where we perform at the Freo Hotel, isn't the area where they serve alcohol....I don't know how this effects their license, but I know there have been under-18s in the audience on occassion...often accompanied by a guardian but occasionally not.
Young people who may be interested in improv would probably get a lot out of our shows, but be aware that there is almost always highly adult content.
(I know it's probably tame compared to what kids already talk about every day during recess; but because of the way our censorship/restricted viewing classifications operate, I don't want to be seen condoning young people coming to see our shows although I reckon they'd have fun and get a lot out of it.)
Also on a corrective note, we improvise our casts as well. A last minute change took Gibson Nolte elsewhere, Sam Longley became the MC, and Mark Storen played for the Hearts team. Not a bad little venue, a great crowd, and a top night out that'll hopefully be repeated more often.
In the meantime, keep coming down to Freo! HOO-HAA!
Cheers
Craig
