Aha! Productions is currently contemplating organizing a series of accent classes to be taught by the renowned NIDA voice teacher, Mr Bill Pepper, in July / August. Bill Pepper is currently Head Of Voice Studies at NIDA. Bill has coached four Oscar winners, directed many theatre productions and has taught Voice and Acting throughout Australia, including several years at NIDA, Actors Centre Australia and as Head of Voice at VCA.
We expect to be able to offer the course to members significantly cheaper than offered at NIDA and The Actors Centre. Also we intend to operate smaller class sizes to ensure you receive maximum benefit from the course.
Non members who are interested in this course should contact us to find out about options for participation.
The committee would like to gauge the level of interest for the following types of classes:
Foreign accent reduction classes
Á˜ These are designed to help members who have recently moved to Australia and wish to speak with a more neutral accent.
Á˜ This is NOT an English course.
Á˜ You must be reasonably fluent in your English already.
Á˜ Max number per class 8.
Á˜ Minimum number per class is 6.
Á˜ Duration of each class = 2 hours
Á˜ Total number of classes = 8
Á˜ Frequency = twice a week
Á˜ Total number of weeks = 4 weeks
Á˜ Cost is approx. $200 for members (prices are dependent on final venue chosen as well as number of participants per class)
Accents & Dialects for Stage/Film/TV Work
Á˜ These classes are designed for any actors who would like to bag a foreign accent or two under their belt.
Á˜ We are currently thinking of Standard American and Standard British to start off with but other possibilities are other Welsh, Scottish, Irish, Provincial English, French, German, Russian, Hispanic, etc. Max. 3 closely related accents for each course.
Á˜ This is NOT a foreign language course.
Á˜ You must be reasonably fluent in your English already.
