Perth Lysistrata Update
Fri, 21 Feb 2003, 05:38 pmHi all -
I thought I would forward this email to the ITA folks - there is still time to get involved and/or enjoy this upcoming staged reading. I know they are still looking for front-of-house & other support.
For more info, contact Vivienne Glance (go to http://www.pecosdesign.com/lys/
& navigate to the Australian performances for contact details, or check out her initial posting earlier on this site).
Here's the update from Vivienne:
*********************
Hello Everyone
I have your email because you or someone you knew thought you might like to be involved in some way with making the reading of Lysistrata, as a protest for peace by theatre artists, actually happen.
Some of you have helped tremendously by contacting friends and
colleagues to help cast and crew the reading, even though you were
unable to take part yourself because of prior commitments.
I want to thank everyone for their enthusiasm and support.
If you can't make the reading on March 3 rd at The Rechabites Hall, at
6.30pm, please tell all your friends about it. The event is free but we
will be collecting donations for Peace Organsiations so they can
continue their important work. We will be reading from 'Aristophanes
Lysistrata: A Woman's Translation' by Drue Robinson Hagen. It is a bawdy and very funny comedy, giving new meaning to the message 'Make Love Not War'. The content makes it unsuitable for children.
The production is now cast (but if someone has to drop out I'll let you
know!) and I thought you might like to know who will be taking part.
So in alphabetical order the cast is: -
Ann Adlem John Aitken Michelle Baginski Michael Barlow Eileen
Colocott Alice Dale Tara Doney Elisa Ghisalberti Olivia Hogan
Jules Hutchinson Matthew Kiely Andy King Ingle Knight (tbc)
Angelique Malcolm David Meadows Edgar Metcalfe Samantha Murray Colm O'Doherty Jane Pyper Michael Van Schoor Jay Walsh Diana Warnock Shauna Weeks Craig Willaims Dawn Yates
The crew are:- Fiona Reid (Lighting) Glenn Bell (Sound) Pippa Stroud
(Stage management) TBC (Director) Rosemary Longhurst (Host and Stage Directions)
Once again many thanks to you all
With good wishes
