Give us a little list - willya huh?
Thu, 28 Nov 2002, 01:51 pmI think this idea has been proposed previously by one Ms Gilly Binks and I really don't know if it was met with scorn and derision at the time but......how about clubs/groups/whomeveryouare providing the cast & crew list of recently auditioned shows? Perhaps it's a simple case of the post audition "can't be bothereds" but hey, it's an excellent form of advanced publicity in that lots of us like to know what our contemporaries (you know, the competition) are doing and if we see that a certain someone has been cast in a certain show, we'll probably slot it away in the grey matter somewhere and make a point of seeing that show.
Also an excellent opportunity to check out the work of anybody you might be considering auditioning for or working with.
I believe Hollywood's been using cast & crew lists to attract punters for years!
So, how's about it clubs/groups/whomevers? Get those lists up. The stage manager's always looking for something to do early in the season!

I still think that putting cast lists on the ITA website (as well as the company's own website) is a great idea. It's quite appropriate for the 'gossip' section really. I mean doesn't everyone want to know who got the role that they didn't get or find out prior to the first rehearsal which marvellous people they'll be performing with or check out if there is any new blood in the mix etc etc?
As I'm so far away now, it's especially nice to log on and find out who's doing what, where and with whom....
Cheers,
Gill
