Vibewire is an online community created by young people for young people - a place where (sub)cultures meet technology, where geographically dispersed communities meet, merge and splinter, where ideas and fun rule and where we are in control. Or something like that. It's really whatever people choose to make it - a platform for people's energy and inspiration. Or just a great place to read a film review. You choose.

Vibewire.net is a project of VibeWire Youth Services, an incorporated, volunteer-based, non-profit youth media and training organisation.

Our vision
Vibewire will be the most representative and inclusive forum for Australia's youth - a community where young people access resources, engage in cultural discourse, and empower themselves.

Our goals are to:
- provide Australia's youth with a representative forum to express themselves on whatever is important to them
- provide a broad range of content encompassing issues, entertainment and resources
- foster the skills, competencies and relationship networks of our team
- continually improve and expand as an organisation
- facilitate communication between youth communities and individuals
- encourage active involvement in the exchange of information, empowering youth as active cultural agents

Vibewire, Australia’s largest online youth portal, announces the launch of “Theatrewire,” a section dedicated to live performance and theatre. Adding to Vibewire’s already impressive line up of sections- music, film, politics and more - Theatrewire will feature weekly theatre reviews, regular interviews with new and established young actors and directors, features and analysis, plus the latest in what’s on in the world of theatre and live performance.

Theatrewire will feature weekly theatre reviews from a team of young writers with crafty, contemporary theatre theories up to their eyeballs! Covered will be everything from contemporary, independent, classic, experimental, dance and beyond. If itÂ’s being performed, it will be discussed in Theatrewire. Theatrewire will also feature regular interviews with both emerging and established artists from all fields, giving advice and sharing their experiences.

Theatrewire, like the rest of Vibewire, will concentrate on intelligent discussion, passion, energy and unadulterated expression. Theatrewire will be written from the perspective of itÂ’s readers - young people, aged primarily between 16 and 30 - shedding light on how they see and express the world around them, and the society they live in. Forget traditional criticism, Theatrewire is all about speaking out and holding nothing back.

VibewireYS is always on the lookout for writers, artists, doers and culture-makers to create and run innovative youth media projects.

Everyone working for VibewireYS (and there are over 100 in four states!) is between the ages of 16 and 30, everyone is a volunteer and everyone is motivated to create new, innovative and effective outlets of youth creativity and expression. And have fun while we're doing it! If you are interested in joining the Perth team or if you would like to find out more info, please contact the Perth sub-editor at the below address.
