If you scan through the headings at the top of this page, you'll see that there is a part of this website that lists auditions in every state - mainly amateur ones and a few pro-am (share of profits). There's a lot of good groups that post their auditions on this website, and if you're looking to get some more experience in acting with groups outside school then this page is a godsend, it basically tells you everything that is on. Most of the one's I've seen posted at the moment are older roles, but keep checking every week or so and plenty will come up.

If you are looking for professional work (and don't be daunted by age etc, you don't need to be Kenneth Branaugh to get the odd paid gig here and there), then you really need to get an agent. I'm not the best person to give advice on that kind of stuff, having only done a couple of very minor paid acting jobs, but choose an agent that makes you audition to get on their books (Frogs and Actors Management are the biggest, I'm with Actors Plus and they've been fine for me) - again, don't be daunted by that, they're looking more to see whether you can act per se (ie castable as SOMETHING) rather than whether you are brilliant or not.
