Professional drama classes for adults
Sun, 21 Apr 2002, 05:32 pmIngrid Klaasenholm presents COME TO YOUR SENSES! an acting program designed to develop the individualÂ’s capacity as an actor.
The course will run for 8 weeks on Mondays (7pm) or Saturdays (10 am) at the Kalamunda Performing Arts Center, starting Monday 6th May 2002. The duration of each session is about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. The program will focus on the key areas:
Confidence in movement
Interpretation of scripts
Voice performance techniques
Time setting and styles
The program will benefit anyone who wants to take acting seriously and develop their skills. The eight week course is tailored to accommodate different levels of skills and groups will be structured wherever possible so that like skills are matched. Each weekly session will last from two and half to three hours.
Depending on demand, continuation of the course is possible enabling students to cover a broader range of subjects, building on the experience of the first module. A further aim is to establish a pool of skilled actors for future productions.
COME TO YOUR SENSES! is professional drama training aimed at giving people a chance who for whatever reason are unable to engage in university or conservatorium studies. The course is intended to help participants develop acting skills, understand techniques, develop strengths and attack weaknesses. It offers the possibility of practising and learning from matched groups. You will interact within a group as well as receiving individual coaching and the aim is to do this in a safe and non-threatening professional environment, without the pressure of exams and passing tests. You will develop an understanding of the psychological nature of acting in a stress-free environment where you will not be judged, yet still get professional classes that demand dedication.
COME TO YOUR SENSES! offers drama classes with a wide variety (comedy, classic, ensemble work, monologue, improvisation, drama, dialogue, and more). It is not “sampling” a style and then going to the next subject without ever reaching an improved skill level. Ingrid works with an in-depth approach. You will become confident in your movements, interpretation of scripts, voice performance techniques, time-settings and styles. The group always learns a lot from each other.
COME TO YOUR SENSES! will be a lot of fun and is a great outlet for self-expression. You will be asked to stretch your imagination, and you will be developing self confidence, giving you the opportunity to tackle any audition or role you choose. The cost of the 8 week program is $275.00. Discount offers available. Please call Ingrid (tel:08-92930353, mob: 0421 173351) or email to book your place.
