Can someone give me any information on Effies new show about the life of Cole Porter? Apparantly it stars our own Nicky Christo and Meg Louge but once again, has not found it's way onto this site. I know it's on the old Brisbane Hotel but I don't know when or for how long.

RE: Is it a Swell Party??

Just a quick clarification, Leah - the lovely lady Meg Louge might object also if you called her Meg Speedskating or Meg Bobsled. Louge is a Winter Olympic sport, whereas my beatiful wife is Meg LoGUe. Sorry to be snappy, but it's getting quite frequent that Meg's surname is being 'winterised'! Of course, if she would just change her surname to Malone, then there would be no issue, right? ;)

A Swell Party runs until April 27, Tuesdays to Saturdays, at 8.15pm, (also 2pm show 17 April and 10.30 shows on 3rd and 24th of April) at the Effie Crump Theatre, Brisbane Street, Northbridge. Tickets hover around $20 and I can attest to their worth - a great night out! Definitely have a look - and book soon, because once people have digested Ron's positive review from this morning's West, tickets will go quickly!

This show stars, alongside Meg, Nick Christo, Gerald Hitchcock, and Emily Lyons. Don't miss it!!

Email me on the above address if you want any more info, or call Effie's on 92277226 or BOCS at 94841133.

And then if you see it, review it on here. I would, but you know...

Cheers
Toby

RE: Is it a Swell Party??

It's a common problem for Leah. She is such a sports fanatic that she often switches words and peoples names for various sports. For example, numerous times she has called me "Dean Shuttlecock", the Butty-boy "Jarrod Badminton" and the Meddoes "That Complete Aresehole".
Not sure of the sporting connection in that last one but Leah assures me there is one.

RE: Is it a Swell Party??

Thanks for that Toby. Sorry about the misspelling but if you have read any of my previous posts you should know it's a wonder I didn't misspell "Meg"!
