Hiya ppl!
I really really need the help of W.A. ppl here! I am going into my final year at school this year and am aiming to study acting and pursue it as my career. Currently, i study TEE Drama as one of my subjects. I acknowledge that it is extremely difficult to be accepted into places such as WAAPA and NIDA, so therefore I am trying to gain experience and learn some new skills to broaden my chances. So.......... I'm asking for any:
*TIPS & ADVICE
*RECOMMENDATIONS ON W.A. AGENTS
*RECOMMENDATIONS ON W.A. SINGING/ACTING/DANCING SCHOOLS

Thankyou for your help!
Kel!

Hi Kelly

Best of luck with TEE Drama this year, it is a very rigorous course and you will need to keep up to date with it.
As for you asking about where to find the experience etc, may I suggest that you come along to the one stop resource expo that DramaWest is holding in March.
DramaWest is the association for Drama Teachers in WA. We are holding a resource expo and there will be representatives from Professional theatre, the Community Theatres, the Universities ( who could give you ideas on courses that you might want to take), lighting and sound companies, make up artists, publishing companies, bookshops, individual performers etc. There will be free workshops being given and demonstrations being held throughout the day.
We are planning on having a sausage sizzle outside and hopefully, some free wine samplings from some of Perths best wineries too ( although this will not be of any interest to you Kelly, I am sure that some other people might like to know that bit!)

The cost of being able to meet all of these people is only $5.00 for you and I think that is very reasonable.

Also, as another reward for your attending the expo, the Graduate Dramatic Society will be giving everyone a free ticket to attend their afternoon performance of Hamlet the next day. What could be better!

Date: March 9th

Venue : The O'Reilly Centre, St. Norbert College, 135 Treasure Road, Queens Park

Times: Between 10 am and 6pm.

We would love to see you there and anyone else who may be interested to find out what is available in all these fields.

Hope that helps Kelly, a shameless plug I know, but I think it would be great for you to see what is available and the chance to see it all in one area and to talk to everyone as well, is too good an opportunity to pass up.

Kerri
