OK - so this maybe another blatant plug, but why the hell not.

After the Fair at the Rechabites is what independent theatre is all about - extraordinary original script (very funny), new local company producing the show, great local talent - and a bunch of freaks that really make you sit up and take notice. The set is amazing, the trickery, effects, costumes, music and characters are a sight to see. Great show! Well done Not the Mama.

Do yourself a favour and see it - there are only 3 more shows - Tues - Thurs 29 - 31 Jan.

RE: After the Fair - True independent theatre

Check out the review by Geoff Gibbs in Monday's West.

I don't agree with everything he says (except of course, the paragraph where he calls me "outstanding" ! ), but he does have some interesting and valid criticism, and acknowledges that this is Fringe theatre, pushing boundaries.

He is best quoted in his summation: "As a piece of new writing this play is worth a visit, with some performances likely to surprise as well as delight audiences."

Come and check it out for yourselves.
