G'day Grant - hope you had a good Chrissie, etc!
Fair enough, but how do things get posted in the What's On section? I'm not a company, I don't have a company password. As far as I know, the "company" putting on After The Fair exists for this Fringe show only.
There's been a couple of times I've posted details of shows I've been in, and the logical place for one-off type projects seems to be in Billboard Bulletins..?
(now that I've posted once, I'm not about to go plastering the details in every other section.)
What else does "Billboard Bulletins" exist for, anyway?
Cheers,
Craig

and aren't there one or two of these companies around?
:-)
no problemo adding the show. you can add a company directly to the site specifying your own password. If it truly is a one-off and you don't want to add an entire company, just pick a company that's appropriate to list it under and ask for a password. Maybe the Blue Room is an appropriate banner here as they manage the Rechabites?
i've tried over the years encouraging Blue Room, Art Rage and Fringe to add their own events here, but they've never really seemed to appreciate that they'll get at least ten times the exposure here as on their own sites... Or in the Blue Room's case about 15-20 times the exposure. We get as many visitors in a fortnight as the Blue Room's site has had in the last 8 months. I'm not suggesting these groups stop maintaining their own sites, but it's a little like not bothering with free advertisements in a magazine read by thousands and justifying this by saying you already send a newsletter to your couple of hundred members.
%)

commendable restraint. i wonder if we might convince a few others to show it?
;-)

Certainly! But posts tend to disappear quickly from the front page quickly whereas an event listing hangs around just as long as it's needed.
Just making sure you're getting bang for your bucks.

What's On -v-v Billboard Bulletins
An example of the evils of going simply for a billboard post and not a What's On;
My wonderfully talented housemate is in a facinating sounding serial progressive show thingy for the Fringe. I wanted to get a group together to go and see it but I needed the details.
I remembered there might have been a billboard post about it but that was no good to me as I didn't know the name of it. SO I went to What's On. Not there. I am now in limbo. I don't particularly want to go the whole way through the last months worth of Billboard postings and being an impatient person, soon I'm just going to give up and go see something that's posted in What's On so I know where when and how much.
Best to take the extra few minuets to work out how to do it and put your show in What's On. It will show up down the bottom of the page for the casual punter who is looking for something to do at the last minuet, and the details are there for posterity.
And if someone could tell me what this damn serial progressive show thingy is called, or when and where it's on and how much for, I'd be most grateful.

RE: What's On -v-v Billboard Bulletins
Hi Leah,
Here you go love. It's called Cyclone. It runs as four episodes over four weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday night shows). Episode 1 starts on the 25th at 7.30, Ep 2 on the 1st at 7.30, Ep 3 on the 8th at 10.30 and Ep 4 on the 15th at 10.30. It's at the Blue Room Theatre. I don't know how much tickets are but my guess is no more than about $15. Please excuse my not putting this in What's On but I'm only a minor role and David Ryding (director) might squash me.
See you there, Love,
Jemma

G'day Grant
Thanks again for prompt response and nice concise advice!
I hadn't realised the What's On was so accessible. I'll go and figure it out.
Cheers,
Craig
<8>-/=====/------------
PS Leah, I think you're talking about Shirley Van Sanden's play "Cyclone" being put on by Two-Tonne Budgie at the Blueroom.

Hi Craig -
Just a little clarification - 'Not the Mama Productions' is an incorporated company whose focus is Young West Australian playwrights and their work. They are run by two very talented artists in Melissa Cantwell and Georgia Malone, and plan to make big things of NTM. Just thought I would give my baby sister a bit of a plug, and would URGE everyone to get to the Rech over Fringe, therefore necessitating an extended season, which means I might be able to get to see it (Twelfth Night keeps on getting in the way!!)
Cheers
Toby

Cyclone ep 3 is here!
Cyclone, the four part soap opera theatre extravcagnza move sinto episode three and to a new more adult time slot!
Okay lets be truthful here, when we say extravaganza we mean we have no set, little props but one damn good voice over artiste and fifteen great actors (well, fourteen and one complete ham!
Adult time slot means we are now on at 10:30. Yes you can come in your jim jammies if you'd like.
But....DON'T MISS IT
Or you won't know the truth behind Tanya
See Max the wonder dog boy in peril
Catch up with Susannah and her dilemma
See the debut of Linda and Bob
and see more baltant bra flashes than ever before!
Cyclone, the show you see @ 10:30
(Okay so there's catchier slogans)
PS If you've never seen it before, don't worry, you'll catch on real quick!
