RE: CHICAGO!!!!

Hi Sherry.

Chicago Season:
November 22th, 23th, 24th, 28th, 29th, 30th
December 1st, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th

Matinees, 22nd, 1st, 8th

The show is absolutely fantastic, one of the best for the limelight in the past year. Lighting (as usual) by Robert Benson-Parry is amazing, as is the multi-level set by Terry Tinsley with cabaret band onstage with the cast. And performances are great too (!)

Booking on 9306 2823

Further info on limelight shows is available @ http://limelighttheatre.com/

I'm glad to hear it but i do wish someone would convince Wanneroo it is worth including their details here!

I noticed some time ago that someone at Wanneroo had invested hours of work in creating a lovely Chicago site that had received a meagre few hundred visitors over several months but hadn't bothered to put a link or details of their show here.

Some companies seem to think along the lines of "we have our own website, so why should we bother including our details in another one".

Which, if we extend the analogy, is kind of like saying "we have our own newsletter so why should we bother including our details in the newspaper". We don't think like that because we know an article in the newspaper will reach thousands of people compared with at most a few hundred in the newsletter.

This site offers free publicity that reaches an audience whole orders of magnitude larger than any other theatre site in Australia. Imagine if your local paper set aside space on the front page of every single edition for you to advertise your show. That's effectively what's available at Theatre Australia. You'd have to be crazy not to use this opportunity!

:-)

Cheers
Grant

PS. Goes back to casting Hamlet.... almost there!

I had trouble with this site too, but there was no number listed to call for auditions. I registered for an audition via the site but was never contacted. Also I wasn't sure how on earth people were meant to find out about this site - it wasn't even listed in the programme for Wanneroo's previous show. I'm not griping, just curious and a bit perplexed.

Just as well - the suspense is killing me! It hath made me MAD!! %-)

Thou infectious fly-bitten hugger-mugger!

Damn...I've had that one before.

RE: CHICAGO!!!!

Congratulations to all at the Limelight on Chicago. I was thinking about reviewing the show but decided against it (if anyone wants my opinion they can ask for it) I do however want to blow the trumpet for:

The sensational band and leader Shaun Fraser, the amazing Sonni Byrne, the delightful David Nelson, the hilarious Ryan Taafe, the fabulous choreography and gorgeous choreographer Fiona Scott and the stunning standout performance in the ensemble of Dixie Farinosi.

Special thanks to all the above. In my eyes you made the show!

RE: CHICAGO!!!!

Hey Grant - back off buddy! that message seemed to be directly aimed at me: I'm only a tech there, and have absolutely no say on administrative function(ings). I was going to do add something for them, but thought they would do it. Not sure what's going on there. Bob Mainwaring set up the site only recently, again, not sure how much its been advertised.

And yes, Ryan is a classic. Hate to be cliche, but don't miss this show!

hehe definitely wasn't targetted at you or anyone else in particular, Alan!

Neither am I. I'll mail you a password for Wanneroo so you can get the events up. As far as I'm concerned, unless someone tells me otherwise anyone is entitled to ask for a password!

Cheers
Grant
