Could you please let your readers know that Perth's PAC SCREEN WORKSHOPS start a new series this coming week. As many may already know these are advanced workshops which bring together actors, directors and writers to create screen drama together. All the directors, many of the actors and all but one of the writers of the recent ScreenWest funded Filmex films were 'graduates' of PAC Screen Workshops. They have been going strong since 1994 and have a huge following filling every series through word of mouth, no paid advertising. Co-ordinated by casting director/ lecturer Annie Murtagh-Monks, with industry guest tutors including director James Bogle In the Winter Dark, actors George Shevstov Love Serenade & Vivienne Garrett Minty. PAC SCREEN WORKSHOP 1 (SWS1) is the initial 8 week series which gives participants a practical grounding in applying Stanislavski to screen and runs Tuesday evenings 7pm -10pm commencing Tuesday 18th September at FTI (Film & TV Institute who have supported the workshops since they commenced) Fremantle. PAC SCREEN WORKSHOP 2 (SWS2) is a further advanced follow-on on Thursday nights 7-10pm commencing September 20th and completion of SWS1 is a prerequisite to enrolling in this. Theme for this series of SWS2 is Comedy. Course fee is about the cheapest for any film course in Australia at $180 for an 8 week course / $140 current FTI members. Those interested can find out more and enrol via our website www.screenworkshop.iinet.net.au
