Award for Beryl Silvester
Wed, 20 Oct 1999, 01:32 pmBeryl Silvester, long time thespian, life member of the ITA, committee member for many years of ITA etc, etc, has just been named "Metropolitan Senion of the Year" and will contest the State final on November 5th for the grand title of "1999 WA Senior of the Year"
Berly says she counted up the number of activities in which she is currently involved and it came to 19! (when do you sleep Beryl?)
Beryl became Director of YAL Drama Academy in 1977 and only recently relinquished that, only to take on running the Swan Cottages Drama Group, becoming an active member of the Maggi Box Theatre Company,at least three writers groups, University of the Third Age and other activities too numerous to mention.
All members of Perth's theatrical community join the ITA in saying "Break a Leg, Beryl" in November and may you go out there and steal the scene from everyone else.
we look forward to a pin-up picture of Beryl posted on the web very soon.
