Based in Newcastle, the Regional Institute of Performing Arts is building a reputation as an innovative and energetic centre for performing arts training. Students are trained in techniques based on the methodologies of leading theorists and practitioners to develop their acting, writing, directing and producing skills. The focus of the training is on imparting the knowledge, skills and techniques that generate employment. As a result, students develop and refine their natural talents to become highly skilled creative and business-minded practitioners. RIPA is dedicated to the development of their talent, creativity and careers. Innovation, experimentation and critical thinking are at the core of their training. Emphasis is placed on: extensive training of the physical body: voice, presence and energy of the performer and the development of the student’s own independent arts practice.
