Reading - Little Women at KADS
Tue, 4 June 2013, 02:21 pmWe are delighted to have "Little Women" as our fourth play for 2013, the well-loved story of the March family. This adaptation is of the first book and ends before Beth dies, and Jo meets Mr Baer.
The director, Christine Ellis is holding a reading the week before the auditions at the Jack Healey Centre meeting room.
When: Sunday 21st July at 2.30pm
Where: Jack Healey Centre meeting room, Mead Street, Kalamunda
Access to parking between the centre and the bus terminal on Mead Street.

Here is a list of the characters:
Mrs March - age 35-50 - a kind, gentle woman, ability to play the piano preferred
Jo March- age 16-18 - a tomboy, intelligent and ambitious
Meg- age 18-22 - a proper young lady
Beth - age 16-18 - gentle, considerate - ability to play the piano highly regarded
Amy - age 13-16 - a snobbish, selfish child.
Hannah - age open
Mr Lawrence - age 50+ - minor role
Laurie - age 16-20 - good humour, lots of fun
Mr Brook - age 20-30 - Laurie's tutor, kind-hearted
Mr March - age 35-55 - minor role
Aunt March - age 45-70 - cantankerous
Christine Ellis has been a director at Stirling Players for 12 years and is a great advocate for youth and was instrumental in establishing SPY, Stirling's youth program which has been operating strongly for 12 years. Many of the one-act plays she has directed have received awards at youth festivals and drama fest. She has directed the following shows at Stirling: "The Children's Hour", "Toad of Toad Hall", "Narnia the Musical", "Noah the Musical", "Alice in Wonderland", "Stories from Suburban Road", "Lords and Ladies" and earlier this year, "The Secret Garden".

We have had very few men express interest in auditioning for this show. We need two young guys between 18-35 for the parts of Laurie and Mr Brooke, the two male leads.Also looking for older men to play Mr Lawrence an old man and Mr March a small part the father. for more info please ring me on 0430494924
