Lust, murder, revenge, supernatural themes! What goes around, comes around… CLASS ACT THEATRE PRESENTS: MEDEA by Euripides Directed by Michelle Trainer (In The Garden, Gasp, Alaska, 2O12 Emerging Director, Deckchair) and starring Andy Blaikie, Anna Brockway, Stephen Lee, Angelique Malcolm and Janet Pettigrew She was rich, bewitching and influential. He was handsome, adventurous and owed her big time. Theirs was a love steeped in magic…black magic. Medea’s husband Jason is leaving her for a younger woman, and she is hurt, angry and shamed. Medea wants revenge, but just how far is too far? Medea is a universal story about acting on the evil thoughts we’ve all had about our ex. Re-imagined in Perth’s western suburbs, Euripides famous tragedy is brought (a little too) close to home. When love dies – there’s only revenge! Does this sound like the plot of a Desperate Housewives or Revenge-clone TV soap? Or Tarantino’s latest blood-fest movie? No This drama is older than Betty White and trashier than boiling a rabbit in your boyfriend’s kitchen. This is a Classical Greek Tragedy! Heartless villain or woman unhinged? Come to MEDEA and decide for yourself. Preview: Wed 21 March. 7.30pm - tickets only $26! Season: 22 March to 31 March, Tue-Sat, 7.30pm Matinee: Sat 31 March, 2pm Special Schools Matinees: Fri 23 March, Wed 28 March & Thu 29 March, 10am The Subiaco Arts Centre Studio 180 Hamersley Rd, Subiaco Tickets: $37, $29, $26, $19 Booking through: BOCS: 9484 1133 Blog Page: http://classactmedea.blogspot.com.au/.
